Carbon3.ai becomes one of the first UK companies to deploy NVIDIA HGX B300 on direct liquid-cooled HPE servers at scale, strengthening its sovereign AI offering

Press Release - 17/12/2025

LONDON – December 17, 2025  - Carbon3.ai  has agreed one of the UK’s first deployments of NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra AI infrastructure with HPE direct liquid cooling (DLC) enabled servers, marking a breakthrough in AI performance, energy efficiency, and cost-to-compute economics.

Carbon3.ai’s nationwide network of data centres will use HPE ProLiant Compute XD685 servers powered by NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra AI infrastructure to deliver high performance, efficient AI capacity for businesses in the UK. The systems will be hosted within an HPE AI Mod POD, a modular, performance-optimised data centre that can be placed virtually anywhere and is fitted with HPE’s patented cooling systems and designed for scalability, data privacy, and control.

The deployment also includes high-performance NVIDIA networking - including NVIDIA Spectrum-X and NVIDIA BlueField-3 - to ensure the highest efficiency and lowest latency data transfers necessary for the most demanding AI use cases.

Through its new status as an NVIDIA Cloud Partner, Carbon3.ai gains early access to NVIDIA’s most advanced AI technologies, supporting its ambitions to develop a UK-based, resilient, lower-carbon AI capacity.

The energy-to-compute efficiency advantage delivered by the NVIDIA and HPE AI infrastructure will allow Carbon3.ai’s customers to access more compute-per-pound. By utilising a direct liquid-cooling architecture, Carbon3.ai can cut energy usage by up to 30%, while maximising density, making it the ideal platform for deploying large-scale transformer models, AI inference grids, or scientific simulations at volume. In addition, Carbon3.ai’s sites use renewable energy, generated on site, to supply power to its data centres, lowering operating costs, reducing emissions, and supporting infrastructure resilience.

“NVIDIA HGX B300 represents a generational leap in performance and efficiency,” said Mick McNeil, Co-Founder & Chief Business Officer at Carbon3.ai. “This isn’t just about faster GPUs - we’re supporting the building of an AI economy that runs on UK energy, UK infrastructure, and under UK jurisdiction. Deploying NVIDIA’s infrastructure with HPE on our sites will help us deliver world-class performance, alongside resilient, lower-carbon compute power to our customers.”

“With the deployment of NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPU’s on HPE liquid-cooled AI servers, Carbon3.ai is tackling a core barrier to the UK’s AI adoption – efficient, scalable and sovereign AI infrastructure”, said Matt Harris, SVP & managing director for UK, Ireland, Middle East, and Africa at HPE. “By creating resilient, local infrastructure that lowers cost of ownership and carbon footprint of AI, Carbon3.ai is enabling UK organisations to stay in control as they operationalise and scale their projects, leading the way on accelerating responsible AI adoption in the UK.”

"NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture delivers exceptional performance and energy efficiency for enterprise AI workloads, enabling organizations to build sustainable, sovereign AI infrastructure at scale," said Rod Evans, Vice President for Supercomputing, Higher Education, Cloud and AI, EMEA, NVIDIA. "Carbon3.ai's deployment demonstrates how innovative partners are leveraging our platform to drive real-world AI transformation while meeting their environmental and operational goals."

Building the backbone of the UK AI economy

Carbon3.ai’s Blackwell Ultra deployment directly benefits industries that depend on high-performance AI workloads - from financial services (risk modelling, fraud detection) to manufacturing (digital twins, predictive maintenance) and healthcare (genomics, diagnostics, and research).

Beyond infrastructure, Carbon3.ai’s AI platform provides the software and tools that allow organisations to operationalise AI quickly, enabling agentic teams, workflow automation, and industry-specific solutions that convert compute capacity into measurable business value. To support this, Carbon3.ai integrates modern data platforms such as VAST Data to make sure information can be stored, accessed, and used quickly and securely by AI systems. This allows organisations to move from raw data to real AI applications with confidence, while keeping control of where their data lives and how it is used. The platform includes NVIDIA AI Enterprise, a set of cloud-native software tools that help companies build, run, and scale AI applications more easily.
